I’m Kris Yanke, CEO and founder of Safety Matrix. Over the past 25 years as a software developer, 20 years in the construction industry, and 17 years as a business owner, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside a wide variety of trades. Through that hands-on experience, I came to deeply understand the unique, everyday challenges teams face when trying to keep their workers safe on the job site.
Safety Matrix was born out of genuine frustration.
For years, I watched companies implement complex safety software platforms that did more harm than good. Instead of helping, these tools created unnecessary administrative friction, wasted valuable time, and failed to deliver real value to the workers in the field. When a tool becomes a burden, employees dread using it, compliance drops, and the software stops being a reliable single source of truth.
I knew there had to be a better way.
We built Safety Matrix to fix this broken dynamic. Our goal is simple: deliver a platform with such a clear, immediate value proposition that everyone—from field crews to executive leadership—actually wants to use it and keep it up to date. Safety management shouldn’t be a tedious chore; it should be an intuitive asset that protects your crew and empowers your operations.
